5Y3 rectifier tube and Twinings Tea Box valve preamp

I posted an image of the finished Twinings Tea Box preamp with valve rectification then suddenly remembered why I had gone down the the valve rec. path. It is because I have a well used 5Y3G in my garrison of tubes which I wanted to employ in a project. In the original version I used a 5AR4, squat cathoded, Chinese and smart. But now the full realization of the project has come to light. This is how it was always meant to be (see earlier images for the original finish).

Some audiophiles roll their rectifier tubes to fine tune their amps. With this tube in place (and based on a short listen) I feel there is greater bass weight and slightly extended depth of sound stage. But who cares, it just looks slick, the way it was always intended.
