Simple DIY Speaker Cables
Instructions are provided to construct some very simple DIY speaker cables. I use these cables with my DIY Hi-Vi 3-Way Speakers.
UPDATE - 19 May 2009 - Adam has improved this cable design by significanlty reducing inductance. See the new project page, Low-Inductance DIY Speaker Cables for details of the improved speaker cable design.
The following materials were used for these simple DIY Speaker Cables:

The materials for this project are available from Parts Express. Add banana plugs or spades of your choice to terminate the wires.

Photograph 2 below shows a test weave for the speaker cables. The idea here was to use multiple 16 gauge wires to lower the loudspekaer cable resistance. Weaving the wires helps reduces asymmetrical field interactions since the wires are not on either the inside or outside of the cable more than any other wire.

Once I was happy with the test weaves, I put together a short test speaker cable.
