Philips_EL6431_Amplifier_Guitar_Amp.jpgPhilips EL6431 Guitar Amplifier Rebuild1739 viewsThis vintage Philips amp uses 4 x EL34/6CA7 tubes to obtain an output power of around 120 watts into an 8 ohm speaker. The supply voltage on this amplifier is 825 volts! I managed to rebuild and convert the Philips EL6431 into an instrument amplifier that I can hook my bass up to as well as play music.

There is more information and photographs on my rebuild in the 120 watt Philips EL6431 Tube Amp thread on the forum.

SE_807_Tube_Amplifier.jpgSE 807 Tube Amplifier2288 viewsI send to you a picture of my 807 "Oldschool" tube amp. It's Homebrew Audio made in Germany.

In the first stage I used a EBC91 (6AV6), followed by an Russian 6H8C (6SN7) that works in SRPP configuration. Next is the 807 tube in SE. A special gimmick is the EM83 magic eye with to sections, one for each channel.

Description is published on my site www.audioelektronik-shop.de

12au7_4S_preamp.jpg
12au7_4S_preamp.jpg12au7 preamp1736 viewsIn this build I employed a single stage tube preamp to provide gain and volume control to my 3W 6AS7 SET amp. This preamp uses a 24VAC wall wart and by configuring a 24/240V step down tranni to work backwards I can gain 280VDC across the 12AU7. No hook-up wire is used in the amp cct. only component-2-component wiring. The preamp produces no hum or buzz. It extends to a deep rich bass and very natural mids and highs. The frequency response is flat from 10hz to 130KHz and square way performance is exceptional. There is more information in the Super simple single stage tube preamp thread on the forum.

Silver_Dragon_300BSE.jpg
Silver_Dragon_300BSE.jpgretro-thermionic Silver Dragon 300BSE1895 viewsThis amp has taken nine months to build. It was design by
Suncalc on the forum from the ground up based on three criteria I stipulated: 1-two stage 0NF, 2-6SN7 and 300B tubes with tube rectification and 3-Single ended.

Most of the main components were selected by the customer I built it for: TJ Full Music 300BSE(RRP $1200), 50 year Treasure 6SN7, Audio Note Silver foil caps, Mundorf M-Tube poly filter caps, silver wire in the audio path. Other components were my selection.

The bass is extended, full rich mids and treble bright and extended. Very expensive to build and a long time in the making but really worth it. http://www.retro-thermionic.blogspot.com/

5751-SRPP-Push-Pull-EL84-Tube-Amp.jpg5751 SRPP / Push-Pull EL84 Tube Amplifier2286 viewsThree months ago, I finished the PoddWatt 5751 SRPP / Push-Pull EL84 tube amp. This is a great amplifier with great sound. Now it is connected in UL mode without any NFB. I would like to try the amp in a Triode connection mode, but I do, there is too much power loss so I am investigating a the possibility of a parallel push-pull output stage.

This enclosure is made using the material Corian which is a product by DuPont often used for counter-tops.

Single-Ended-300B-Tube-Amp-MockupIIs.jpgSingle-Ended 300B Tube Amplifier - Mockup IIs2388 viewsThis is my first 300B tube amplifier. The power supply will be separate from the amp. The tubes are $1200 rrp TJ Full Music 300B/SE carbon plates. The 6SN7 is a 50 year Treasure. The audio output transformers are 30W Hammonds. The base is Mirbeau and the top and bottom plates are 2mm thick aluminum. Signal wiring is 0.7mm pure silver wire and super heavy gold plated speaker binding posts.

For the design information see the 300B SET Design Project thread on the forum.

RH84_-_SE_EL84_Tube_Amp.jpg
RH84_-_SE_EL84_Tube_Amp.jpgRH84 - SE EL84 Tube Amplifier2364 viewsThe first tube amp I built and I love the sound... pentode power with triode sound! The amplifier topology is the RH84 from designer Alex Kitic. I am using JJ EL84 and Sylvania 12AT7 tubes. The most important aspect of this ingenious design is the plate to plate partial feedback without global feedback, 2nd harmonic distortion is slightly increased giving the impression of listening to a SET amp. Damping factor and bandwidth are also improved. The OPT are from a salvaged an RCA console - a gift from Dave of Planet10 (thanks).

What a great amp !

Chinook_13FD7_SET_Tube_Amp.jpgChinook 13FD7 SET Tube Amplifier2037 viewsThis is the second tube amplifier I have built and of course I'm hooked BIG TIME!! I love it. The tube amplifier is the Chinook (Baby SET, 2.5W/ch) with one 13FD7 per channel and a EM80 for VU meter. OPT are Edcor GXSE10-8-5K. This amp makes for a great sound and vision show ;-)

Oatley-Electronics-K295-Tube-Buffer-Kit.jpgOatley Electronics K295 Tube Buffer Kit2458 viewsThe production version of the K295 has been cased in a bitumanised Al lined plastic plastic case. Guitar jack input and outputs are on the rear and large numbered knobs on the front. The blue led indicates "0" position of the attenuators. The preamp can be plugged directly into the mains. Good sounding and simple to build.

The input stage is made by Williamson, after the phase shifter with a split load and paper-in-oil capacitors. Displacement of the output stage is automatic, inclusion of a pure pentode. The amplifier operates in pure class-A. The output stage can be used with 6P6S and 6V6 tubes without any changes. There is no feedback used in this amp. The cathode resistor of preamp halves EСС82 are NOT capacitor shunted. The input connectors are Amphenol BNC and the output contacts are from an old laboratory equipment HP.

With best regards,
Rakhmanov Ilya (Рахманов Илья), Moscow, Russia.
