Seas FA22RCZ Fullrange in Open Speaker Cabinet

This is a "open cabinet" speaker that uses a Seas FA22RCZ driver (200 mm (8") fullrange). As you can see, the cabinet is open as it has no bottom. The speaker system impedance measures like a poorly adjusted bass reflex box, while the frequency response measures similar to that of a closed (sealed) cabinet. There is no filter network used with the Seas FA22RCZ driver.

The sound is very clean, open and free of compression artifacts, similar to open baffle speakers. Nevertheless, it has a satisfying bass depth.
