I have my music on thumbdrives: wav and flac. I want to simply upgrade from my Android phone's DAC. Right now the thumbdrives plug into the small USB port on the phone using an OTG. The phone's headphone jack takes the converted audio as analogue to an older receiver, then to my speakers. Is there anything that comes to mind where I can place something between the phone and the receiver to take over the DAC duties from the phone? I use the phone so I can see and access the different files on the thumbdrive.
If some better DAC could receive the thumbdrives and maybe have a simple button that selects through the files, I could work with that....eliminating the phone.

Hi, At first look this seems nuts......but get another old used smart phone. They are cheap and will do the job. An alternative is to find a discontinued older tablet. Either will do what you want and free up your main phone.

Good listening
Bruce
