I’m still not decided on what speakers i’ll use, but OEMs are slowly getting out of the way in favor of a diy project. It will definitely take more time before I have a pair built, but at least now that i’ve moved out of my apartment into my new house, I have the space to work on bigger woodworking projects like this.

I found those full rangers made by Fane. There’s a 12" and a 15" available and both seem interesting:

I will definitely try the simulations programs with thoses. 45hz to 17khz is the widest bandwidth i’ve found in that price range. I’d have to spend a lot more to get something else that goes lower and higer at the same time. 17khz seems enough to me anyway.

I don’t exactly know how I would do that, but i’d like to use them with subs integrated in the same enclosure, but in their own sealed box. That might allow me to get my full 20hz while still keeping a very simple design. Maybe with the subs pointing down or on the side. Still many questions to answer, especially for the crossover. I’ve started to read about the zobel networks since i’d like to tame the impedance spikes as much as I can...

Thanks for your answers !
