Hi all,

I just discovered this forum, and it seems that the following may be of interest for you:

In a two-year project of mine, I did a web research about tube spice models, analysed and compared them, and then merged the best ideas (plus some own) to a new set of generic tube spice models. This models containes the following features:
- the initial velocity current for the control grid
- accurate grid currents, especially for triodes
- no separate model necessary for pentodes connected as triodes
- secondary emission effect is also possible to be described

Currently under development is the enhancement, that my tube models will also work in inverse mode (=control grid will be the output, while the signal is modulated with the (high negative) plate from the backside! ;)

Up to know, I have fitted about 2 dozens of vacuum diodes, triodes, tetrodes and pentodes. The fit quality of all fitted tubes is shown with detailed diagrams.

Hi all,

just be aware of my latest LTspice model from the Russian 1j29b pentode.
This tiny tube is perfect for small battery driven effect pedals or headphone amps!

The model is quite accurate and considers also secondary emission and g1 initial velocity current, see attached graphs.
...and yes, you may also use other Vg2 values than 45V or use the tube in triode mode, no problem for my model (as long as g3 is earthed) ;)

Hi all

Please be aware that I discovered this week a major bug in my generic pentode spice models with version i3 and i4. All simulations with this models delivers correct results only in case of grounded cathodes. So no self-bias, cathode follower and the like possible! :bawling:

But I have now fixed versions _i3f and _i4f to offer :D. (f means "fixed")
Affected pentode models: 6L6GC and 1j29b

Dear 6V6 users,

I have good news for you!
My latest spice model is for the Brimar 6BW6, a very similar (if not identical) power beam pentode.
As always, my models delivers also accurate currents for the grids.
It is also not necessary to change the model for triode mode or ultra linear mode.
