Could I implement something like this to add headphone out?

Not a definitive response as I don’t really know if it’s as practical for diy as you see in some commercial amps, but the link may provide some considerations. https://wtfamps.com/headphone-output-stages/

You can develop cathode follower headphone drivers. Lots of people do.

I don't like them because of the effects on headphones. The low impedances of the CF stage and the headphones requires the coupling capacitor to be very large to get any low end performance. The last 6AS7 stage I designed required in excess of 100µf to get the low end fulled out. The problem with the large high voltage capacitors is during transients it is possible to get high DC voltage drifts. This can cause sometimes 10s of volts dc to appear across the headphones. Headphones don't like this. I had one pair destroyed by a ostensibly properly functioning amplifier.

I much prefer driving headphones either through transformers, or with low voltage solid state circuitry.

I have enjoyed the circuit for a few years. I put an existing power supply in a separate box to reduce hum issues and made the finished unit better looking. I had a set of Hovland coupling caps that I think sound great; mounted them on top because they are big and they look cool.
Tried a bunch of 12AU7 tubes and the design is really tolerant of variations. Telefunken 12AU7 is the winner so far, might be squishy in the bass, but sounds pleasing. 12BHK7 Sylvania is good, but not a lot of "space" to the sound.
An HP NOS 5963 sound surprisingly good... nice tonal balance. Not as magical as the Tele, but seems accurate. Most people who try the 5963 don't like them too much in pre-amps.

The square box has enough room to fit the rest of the components comfortably and is super sturdy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SQ ... UTF8&psc=1
Used an ALPS potentiometer for the volume control.

What is a 12BHK7 Sylvania, or is it a typo and you mean 12BH7A ?
