FostexFE206E in Double Bass Reflex Speaker Enclosure

This is the simpler enclosure recommended by Fostex for their high sensitivity FE206E drivers. The large magnet and basket spokes of the driver have been covered with bituminous damping. The upper chamber has sound deadening vinyl across the back and the rest of the upper chamber has double layers of thick Dacron lining it. The boxes are fastened using dowels, glue and wood screws. A Speaker Zobel / Impedance Equalization Circuit is used across the driver terminals. The sound soundstage is pin-point sharp and with good depth. Bass is sufficient without being heavy. For under $AU500 these speakers represent very good value. With a sensitivity of 96 dB/W my 6 W Ultra-Linear Single-Ended valve amps can produce a high sound level.
