Hi all,

I'm planning to build a 2.1 Bluetooth System.

I wouldn't ming getting your opinion of the project and ALSO I need some help figuring out the XO.

So, here's the project:

2.1 in one 60 L vented box with the following hardware:

- 2 x 4" Dayton Audio Full range, 8 Ohm: https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-au ... r--295-352
- 2 x Dayton Audio Tweeter, 8 Ohm: https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-au ... r--275-075
- 1 x 8" Peerless Subwoofer: https://www.parts-express.com/peerless- ... --264-1102

- 2.1 Bluetooth Amp: https://www.parts-express.com/21-amplif ... e--320-636

Subwoofer will be facing down and the whole box would be sitting on 2 - 1/16" feet - You can see attached picture for a first-draft box design.

2 QUESTIONS:

1) I am thorn between putting the 4" full range inside a vented box (for F3 = 68 Hz) OR a sealed box (F3 = 144 Hz)? I'm thinking there'll be too much bass considering the sub, but I would appreciate any opinions out there.

2) I was thinking of putting 2 XOs on the midrange / tweeter and running Sub directly from the amp. I don't know how to design a crossover, so was hoping to use a pre-made one. I need advice on what XO to use here.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

You want to match the sensitivty of the tweeter and the base and cross over at the right point.

If sensitivty is not the same number, then for same volume input either base or tweeter is louder than the norminal volume.
Also look at the graphs.

A few quick tips. Instead of using the rs100-8, you would be better off using the RS100-4. Being lower impedance, the amplifier will be easier to push it to higher levels. This will help out with battery life and of course, how loud your speaker can get. I recently used the RS100-4 in a design called the Dinas (you can see it on Youtube if you like). Honestly, the RS100, does not need a separate tweeter for what you are doing. You're better off running these full-range sealed and using your amplifier to crossover witht he subwoofer.
