I have wound 1 and .63mh chokes on ferrite rod using thick enamelled copper wire. It only takes a few layers of wire on a short piece of ferrite to achieve these values. I used them on Xovers for speakers.

I always try make things at less once , by myself . After , I buy it . To me is a part of hobby , find old parts that re-live in a new proyect .

Dear all
I have made the measurement now:
I get 12 Vpp with a load of 8.2 Ohm.
To my calculation this is a little more than 2 W output

Sounds about right. I put a 1Khz signal in and watch the signal out on a CRO from an 8ohm resistor. When the top of the sine wave just starts to miss-shape I call that max power.

Hello Mark ,

With 2n3773G and simulating with multisim , I have perfect square sine till 50khz and more , but with 2n3055A and tip3055 I can not and is far worse.

The difference is big

All this simulating.

I'd be happy with a clean sqr wave to 10k and a fair sqr wave at100hz.

With one 2N3055 build I have it's upper 3db piont is 125khz. But them my two stage valve preamp goes to 160khz.

Well ok ,

Wich transistor ? , 2n3055A or 2n3055G , because simulating are differents . Excuse me , but I have no osciloscope.

The sqare wave becomes rounded little at 10kHz and pretty much at 100kHz on my real 3055 one.
But i don't care so much, the sound is very good. It sounds much better than my Yamaha M-2 although that one looks better on the scope ;)
