I am loving the ZCA so much that I am building another version that runs off a 150W Meanwell SMPS. It delivers 25V DC @ 6A.

The ZCA v2 will feature 5 different inputs which have a different input capacitor each.
Input 1 : Multi layer ceramic cap
Input 2 : Electrolytic bipolar cap
Input 3 : Ultra "audiophile" poly cap
Input 4: -- not yet decided --
Input 5: -- not yet decided --

This version will feature some improvements over my old ZCA :

1. Power MOSFET is mounted close to the PCB components. (reducing risk of oscillations)
2. Metal film resistors vs Carbon
3. 10uF Mundorf M-Cap used to snub the 4700uF output capacitor.
4. Cost is drastically reduced. The SMPS costs $35, while a choked PS + tranny+Caps will be easily over $100. More testing will be done to verify if the SMPS is an improvement.
5. User selectable choice of input cap.

Awesome, I love the idea of different inputs each with its own input cap! You could even do the same on the output end!

Hopefully the SMPS will be quiet. Were you planning on further filtering of the PS?
Cheers

How would I do that ?
I am not sure of the suitable filtering values. I have a spare 6mH choke lying around, maybe I could do a further CLC filter ?

I haven't built the 2nd channel of ZCA yet, but should be soon. The working channel is exceptionally quiet, and I may not need more filtering. (this was tested on PC direct to amp, digital volume control).

Dunno about selecting choices for output cap Lolz. Let's say a Blackgate vs standard cheap 4700uF ? Or a different PP snubber cap. Wow the possibilities are endless hahaha...

Yes, I was thinking some sort of CLC filter. Of course start by trying without the filter as the PS is quiet enough as is.
Cheers

Are you sure. It is a common audio FET.
