Sorry I haven't been around much...been taking kind of a hiatus from building. Someone ordered a full-out version of my preamp so I had to build it and I have to say I am very happy with the results.

From top to bottom everything but the iron is upgraded:

Hyper-FRED diodes bypassed by Panasonic Film caps
Panasonic PSU caps bypassed by Solen caps
Tubecad H-PS-1 DC heater powersupply
Jantzen Z-superior input caps
PRP resistors throughout except grid stoppers which are vintage carbons
Output cap switching with Hyrel-Q PIO caps bypassed by dayton films and dayton films in the C2 spot, user switchable.

Cap switching box (switch not shown, tubecad supplied).

Hi Bill, very nice work!
Has the chassis been finished with the powder coat your had mentioned before? It really looks great!

Hi Gregg, welcome to the forum. If you are looking for some leads on 6T9 tubes, there were a couple sources noted in the WTB: Spare 6T9 anyone? thread.
Cheers

Yes that is the powdercoating I spoke of. Again I scored a killer deal because someone ordered 2lbs of textured powder blue and did not like it, so I got it at labor cost. :D

Yes, that is an output cap switch box on top, you can select C1,C2 or C1+C2 (with a shutdown/startup) to change the sound. I put it external so the future owner could do the work without having to worry about digging around the guts of the amp.

That is a very smart idea indeed.
