Hi Everyone, I have a new project in the works....I don't want to spill the "beans" on it completely, but it is a hybrid and uses 6AS7s. I did attach a photo of the chassis as it now exists. Since some of the components are weeks away I have to let it rest for awhile. I expect to post a full build project on it as I figure it could interest a number of you diyers with spare vintage tubes lying around.

Good listening

The 6AS7 is an octal base power triode. Nice chassis Bruce, but those look like 9-pin noval sockets??

My guess from looking at the chassis, is a 6AS7 Parallel / Push-Pull power amp with current source cathode biasing and 6SN7 SRPP driver.

So, Bruce... How much did I get right?

Hi, They are octals. Moderately close, but no "horseshoe". I did consider that though.

Is that a choke on the back wall?

Hi, Nope. It is a 12VAC transformer.

How will this compare to your Oddblock Octals?

Thanks

Is that gnd lug on the back panel? Perhaps a phono gnd? Relay switched inputs, OPT holes in the chassis with pwr trans in the middle so not just a headphone amp. The spkr banana jacks on the back helped the guess. I'm agreeing with Matt. PP 6AS7 paralleled and 6SN7 in the front end. Hybrid = 12v trans driving SS front end with Vacuum tubes on the lid.
