I just received some new 833C triodes from a fellow Ham. I was thinking of doing a pair of mono block 833 Amps. I was thinking of using the same preamp and driver circuit that I use in all my 813 PP amps and adding a 6550 to drive the 833's. I was thinking of using lower hv on the 833 plates of 900 to 1000 volts. I can get 12K OPT's rated at 300 watts. I get them from a local place. That does custom work. The only problem I can see is my Wife. I do not know if she Will let me use them in place of the 813 amp I use now.

WAF is easy... make it pretty with hardwood and protective acrylic (fan needed) or chrome cages.

The tubes themselves lend to WAF because they glow orange in normal operation - no LED's needed! :D

IMHO, run them at 1200-1500 for audio. 900-1000 just isn't enough for the righ sound unless you go 845.

There are better "brute amp" experts here, though, that may have loadlines ready.
