I thought this might interest someone,

Many years ago I found reducing heater voltage on pre-amp tubes seemed to reduce shot noise.
After a search I found this, now its totally just for interest and I'm not suggesting anyone try this.
I thought about cathode poisoning etc.
However it seems the article is still on the net..Link:

Whelp, the military has done the research:
