Got this finished today..it's my first project in a while. Hammond grey steel chassis and a few bits from the junk box and ebay. I had a bit of a problem with a bad joint in the heater wiring but once sorted it now works like a charm. I won't be winning any prizes for tidy wiring! Thanks for posting the circuit.

Banbury transformer!!?? Got a few of them. The OPs are (at least in Europe) pretty cheap and of reasonable quality.

It was 30 odd GBP from a guitar amp place. First time I've used one. Seems to work well....runs cool.

Here's the underside of my 4S and it's ... multi level point to point wiring. I should really try harder to get a better layout... :|

You think, PCB is better? I wouldn't say this. IMO, PCB looks nicer and that's all ...Point to point is shorter and more noiseless, ....I haven't had problems every time with 3D wiring in my 96 db Fostex 206.

Where you can, stay away from PCBs. Point-2-point is better.

I agree P2P every time is smaller and quieter. It might look messier but it is the results that count.

Why 3D or P2P wiring is better, can someone explain us? I have some explaining....maybe I'm right or my expl. is not deep? .....Around every element there is magnetic field with own vector. All vectors are in different directions, that cause some compensation, I'm I right or not? Please, critic!

Completed this 4s build about 3 weeks ago. Works great and was a lot of fun to build - thanks Suncalc!

I am currently assembling the parts to this, and I can't find the internal shield/card, or I don't know what to call it when I search for it. Any suggestions?
