Has anyone done a comparison between the 300b mesh plate tubes and standard solid plate? The reason that I ask this is that I am looking to design a 300b set and want to use the AZ1 rectifier tube. Aesthetically using a mesh plate rectifier along with a mesh plate 300b would look stunning, however I don't want to invest over 400 bucks in output tubes if they will perform sub-par compared to solid plate tubes.

I know that suncalc has a thread for the design of a 300b set, but I didn't want to introduce this topic there so as to keep his thread completely on topic.

If someone has done the comparison, what was your over all impression and with what style of music did you use for the listening test?

Thanks in advance.

As my friend said, it won't be better than the other types.
As for these Chinese made 300Bs,try to find the earlier types could sound better.
If you want to know more about it, I have to ask him again.
