I recieved two K299's with the transformer in the post yesterday :-) keen to get them built. The PCB's look great. Instructions are a little thin on the ground and I am keen to read up on how the circuit works. Waiting for more details to be posted on Oatley's site....now, where is that bread board.

So, got myself down my local dump / recycling center to try and source a case for the K299's. fished out a denon pma715r amp from under a washing machine :-) the case etc was in lovely condition. let it dry out at home and just thought i would check if it worked, plugged it in, fired it up and it was working perfectly! spent a couple of hours thinking 'should i ?', then destroyed the insides :-) I now have a nice fake amp case which will fit the transformer, two times k299's and a spare k272a that i have :-) a little alps motorized vol pot that was on the pma715r as well.

whilst testing the k299's, one channel is working perfectly. but, the other channel almost fried my load, it is throwing out 24v on the speaker terminals? any ideas what i should be looking for? I had a look over the board and it looks fine, identical to the other channel, no funny solder links etc?

cheers Everyone

If the chip fails they can drop a rail on the output of the chip. It maybe the chip has shorted to the heat sink and if grounded will take the chip out.
