Hi everybody,

it has been some time, since I posted anything in that thread, but yesterday I exchanged the 5k opts against the 7,5k multi tap from Edcor. Now I can use my amplifier also on 4 ohm speakers. It was kind of late last night, so I really couldn't test the amp much anymore (the neighbors) but I will do that today, of course. I was using it every day on my 8 ohm speakers, now I can try it for the first time on 4 ohm speakers as well, it's got a 4 ohm 8 ohm switch now. For the rest it looks the same, so no need to post more pics of it. It was always a very good sounding amplifier, now with the appropriate opts it is the best it can be. Thanks Bruce.

Hi All, The trannies are actually 8Ks. That particular trannie is the one that the amps were originally designed around and provides excellent sound quality. (Edcor CXPP25-8K-MS). They work well with many different types of power tubes to boot.

Good listening
Bruce

Hi everybody,

since I exchanged the opts on my OddBlock one side was louder than the other, I had the phase exchanged of one of the opts, because it fitted so nicely with the wires. Pretty dumb from me, Bruce just gave me the enlightening idea via e-mail, thanks Bruce.
