I figured I could start this since I have a few pics and whatnot.

I still need a few parts to begin the actual construction but the board is finished with the exception of some wire bridges and the second set of output caps, which I am going to use Jantzen Z-Superiors in.

I originally was going to just use the 2 cap locations for 2 outputs but I have decided to use the cap selector switch because I am not sure if the Russian PIO will be good for the sub out if I end up liking the Jantzens on the mains. The switch allows you to select C1, C2, or Both.

Chassis will be dual Hammond 12x8x2 steel chassis with a piece of oak I got at home depot the other day on closeout...it is the most beautiful piece of oak I have ever seen...especially at a big box store.

Tubes are GE or Philips 5687 and EH or RCA 6cg7.

I want to thank everyone that helped me with the power supply questions...it is my first Non-SMPS PSU.

Here is the wood...and the photo doesn't even come close to doing it justice.

Good start. I like the Hammond enclosures, but I prefer to us aluminum. It is strong enough and easy to drill.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Are they as pretty? The steel chassis is powder-coated so no finish work required...have not played with the aluminum ones yet.

Hi, Interesting project. I just ordered the octal kit. Let us know how yours sounds when it is up and running. What type of PS are you using?

Didn't ya see my nightmare of a PSU thread? ;)

It will be an SS full-wave choke rectified design.

Pretty? Sounds like your wife is getting too involved in this! :D

No, they are plain aluminum, but you can paint them. Here are some I have used:

OK, those boards look to be well thought out. It seems like the board will accommodate a wide assortment of capacitors sizes. Will you be using DC on the heaters?

Yeah I plan on staying DC for everything.
