Hi all:
I'm brand new to the world of DIY Tube Amplifier kits and I was wondering if any of you could help me with a few questions I have.

Is there much difference between a K-502 and a K-12? or how about a K-12G to a K-12M?

I just bought a K-12G and I'm pretty excited on getting started.

Any advice for a noobie such as myself?

Welcome to the forum. This is a great place. You don't mention anything about your knowledge of electrical circuits in general and safe practices in particular, so my first inclination is to recommend reading closely info at the link below. Vacuum tube circuits can be LETHAL because of high voltages present. As in, you can be dead if careless. No way to sugar coat it. Please be aware of what you are doing, and have your full attention and concentration focused on whatever that is.

I can't help you with the question about the kits, but someone here can.

Cheers, Greg

Hi Newf,

I'll second starting with electrical safety. Here is another good overview: http://tubelab.com/Safety.htm

All three kits are very similar, typically different tubes. The K-12G is the latest version of the kit. Also, take a look at the S-5 Electronics DIY Tube Amplifier Kit page for more info.

Feel free to ask questions and welcome to the forum.
