Hi Everyone...a little meandering (well not so little) for your amusement.

Why I need to win the lottery. Let me explain. This is not because it is really necessary, but related to my main interest (some might call it a hobby but it is more). I have always loved electronics and good music. They have been in the forefront for over 50 years now. While I dabbled in other things from time to time I eventually returned to them. I consider both interests to be interrelated. A long time ago I found that to enjoy quality sound production at home I needed good electronics. So far so good. Until about a decade ago my gear was always consumer product sourced. Fine, there is a lot of good equipment in the market place. However I got the DIY bug around eleven or twelve years ago. In some areas other than audio I had the bug long before that but it never surfaced with such zeal. I bought a vacuum tube amplifier kit. Not exactly DIY, but closer than big box stuff. It was OK, but I felt it could be improved. That in itself is a long story that ended up with a device that cost more to modify that it cost new. In the end I figured that I could design and construct a better unit. It took about a year to accomplish that. So for the last decade or so I have been designing and constructing my own audio equipment. It was good enough to start a modest company and sell kits to other potential DIYers. I won’t say that the kits (and assembled products) are main stream in quantity, but they are quite excellent in sound quality by all accounts. To date, there are hundreds of them out there and the DIY versions on some forums have a large following (the hits are in the millions now). The number of actual builds is high but I have no actual data on that. Overall it is an indication that shows my sincere intent to encourage others to join the DIY community. I like to assist others in their pursuit of high quality audio equipment building and design. So how does this relate to the lottery? Easy, after a decade of designing and building equipment and along the way constantly upgrading my music system I have hit a brick wall. Quite literally in a sense. I have pretty much run out of things that can be improved. I’m also fast running out of storage space for the prototypes as well. I am constrained by the physical size of the house and property. The house is brick and room size is essentially impossible to change. I already made a 400 square foot addition and there is nowhere else to enlarge. I need more space. The main listening room needs to be bigger so I can expand the audio system. Thus that in a nut shell is the reason for winning the lottery. I need a larger house. Anyone else out there with this problem?

Good listening
Bruce
