An interesting thing I read about in Astronomy magazine years ago - star gas resonation millions of light years away, even tend to follow some musical scale

There is a natural order to the universe that we are in tune with (no pun intended) :wizard:

There is only what there is, there is nothing more.
:) What is the sound of one hand clapping? (Now I've done it)

Perhaps we are a vibration LOL sorry I digress. (Often referred to as the rhythm of life)

However on a different note, I remember close encounters using the idea.
Dah... Dah..... Dah... Dah... Dahhhhh>>>smash.

On another note/chord/string,

Where is the link between music and frequency?
Ie what differentiates random frequencies and music.
Its a bit like is my red your red:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evQsOFQju08

OK we have all heard this countless times:
If a tree falls in a wood and no one is there to hear it does it make a sound?
Link to one hand clapping.

Dailymotion link for those that can't get youtube:

So could it be,

That the world outside our mind is silent? The sounds we hear are in our head but not outside<<enter the twilight zone music.
Of course that would mean that when a tree falls in a wood it makes sound pressure waves, but the "Sound" is in the listeners mind.

Is a valve a particle accelerator? LOL

Its a bit like when we move our eyes we don't see<<think about it when we are on a merry go round the world wizzes past but when we move our eyes we don't see it, probably to stop us getting giddy and sea sick all the time. However the perception of reality now that's an interesting concept. Does music exist or is it just in our minds? What is reality and how much do we know? Or should I say how much thinking do we need to do so we know reality exists.
(There is only what there is, there is nothing more) Just for fun.

At my son's wedding a week ago, I spoke to one of his female freinds who were raised in N Sweden. She told me about the Northern light and the various noises it was making in the dark polar night. She described the sounds she remembered as a frizzing noise, like from "overheated" electric wires and HV transformers.

That's interesting I didn't realise the Northern lights made any sound.

But then again does anything exist?
Do I exist or am I fooling myself?
Its just a fun idea. :)

We are back to magnetism being "made" of virtual photons, :D and nothing existing until we measure it. Measured by beings made of energy which appear to be alive. LOL

However playing a different note is music also energy that appears in a mind which is an illusion?
So what's the illusion sound, music or the mind?
Is there really a correlation between musical notes or do we just think there is?

What does this mean " That sounds lovely"? (What a brilliant piece of music!)

I would suggest you read "The Norwegian Aurora Polaris Expedition 1902-1903" by K.R Birkeland. There is much to learn about the aurora and the Earth's magnetism in it's almost 1000 pages.
