Dear members,

I'm 50 years old, having studied electronics from 1981 to 1988, then switched over to software. My 1st mid-life crisis at 40 pushed me to buy a boat. The 2nd one at 50 decided me to go back to electronics, specifically tube/valve audio.

Swiss guy, speaking french and german, I'm very happy to join your community to benefit from your experience, help and guidance. As first project, I built a Elekit TU-8200, now I'm into the uTracer and the dummy load of P. Millet, hopefully soon my first amp.

Welcome to the forums. A number of us have lost our way in the past only to return to tubes. I went from tubes (amateur radio) to transistors and ICs to TV to PC hardware to solid state audio and back to tubes. The amazing thing is that some of the tubes from 55 years ago (approximately) when I started this path are ones that I still find use for in modern designs.

Good listening
Bruce

Welcome!

One of my best customers was a sailor, Chief Engineer exactly on 5,000 tonne+ tankers and enjoys tubes :D

Cheers!

Charles, Welcome to the forums

I look forward to hearing from you about your projects. It's always good to know there is another vacuum tube aficionado out there.
