Ok, nice to meet you here!
Your Dutch is still existing, or did it fade away during your life?

Sadly faded away. I spoke as well as a 6 year old speaks when we lived there, but when we moved back to the states I focused on relearning English. Now I wish I would have kept it up.

Hi to All. Great forum. My name is Greg I'm from Birmigham Uk. I have been lurking around here for a while now, mainly trying to soak up the info and learn as much as possible, while trying to better the components in my amps to make them sing a little more.

Post subject:  Hello

Hi ,
I've been visiting the forum for a few months and recently completed my first build, the Poddwatt.
I should have posted this earlier, but was having too much fun building the amp. ;)
With my geography, the heat from the valves is a bonus!
Really impressed with the help and advice on your site and any questions I had were already answered.
The sound from the amp is superb, leaving my old Harmon Kardon in the shade.
Now , what to build next ???????

Cheers,
Ian.

Hi Ian, Welcome to the site. I think I can speak for most everyone in saying we are friendly and like to assist and share ideas. The Poddwatt is a really nice project. Did you build the dual power supply one or the single supply one? Both are over achievers. If you are into vinyl I would suggest the simple IC phono preamp I posted a while back. It even surprised me. Far better than the simple design would seem it indicate. I use one (with the NAB equalization) on my AKAI reel to reel exclusively. I do use the Groove Tube preamps for vinyl though as they are a large step upscale from the IC one (and a lot more costly and harder to build correctly). There are lots of other excellent projects on the site as well.

Good listening
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the welcome.
I built the Poddwatt with the single power supply (2C version), I didn't know there was a dual supply option !
Being a newbie to valve circuits, I followed yours as the schematics & info were easy for me to understand.
I've uploaded a finished picture of my amp, just waiting for it to appear on the site.
I've got a small IC phono preamp at the moment. My plan was to build your IC version then the Groovewatt.
Headphone amp will also be on the ever increasing list.
Looking forward to the next project.
Cheers.

Good Morning

I have found this site by looking for info on tube radios and tube amps. Looks interesting and will have a few questions about some DIY projects. I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada .
The DIY is something to do with my son.

Looking to fix a GopLana table top radio and a Westinghouse Model 823 floor radio.

Don
