Hello all. My name is Dave. I have been lurking for awhile and decided to join in with all you fine folks here at DIY Audio. I am from Nebraska and have been dabbling with tube radio and amps for several years now. I have built a few guitar amps and done a lot of radio rebuilds and a few new radio builds. I admit I know very little about design of power supplies and have only built from others plans. Figuring out how to calculate loads and ps voltages is still beyond my skill level. I look forward to all the knowledge you all have to offer. Hopefully I won't be a pest with my dumb questions. At 63 I'm getting a late start in persuing a hobby I have come to love. I am currently starting on a complete tube hi fi amp, preamp, phono preamp and buffer system. I will definately be needing advice. Thanks for having me in the group.

Welcome to the forum. Please feel free to ask anything or share what you've learned. Always glad to make the acquaintance of a fellow "tuber". :)

Thanks Matt. Finding your amps and a few others on the net is how I found my way here. I am looking at using your lacewood or marblewood ps as my starting point. Likely I will go with the amp as well. I will start a thread soon with my further plans. Looking forward to the journey ahead.

Hi Welcome to the forums....63 a youngster (at least to me). I find it is never to late to learn something new. Hardly a week goes by that I don't encounter something I didn't know about and want to try. Designing is simple...just get a lot of parts and give it a whirl. After the smoke clears ( :firefighter: ), check the web for ideas on why. Hint, buy cheap parts to start. Then of course you can just ask on the forum and probably a few of us have some thoughts on your idea and can provide pointers.

Good listening
Bruce

I have set my share of magic smoke free. Learning not to do that anymore a little at a time. Better to ask questions first. Thanks for the welcome to the forums. Looking forward to the journey.
