Hey all,
I have a circa 1973/6 Rotel RP-1500 turntable that I am currently renovating. Although I am capable with a soldering iron, can follow schematics, I don't actually fully understand how components work and affect each other.....I would class myself as a "board stuffing over achiever"!!
There is an issue with the TT; when the circuit providing power to the motor is closed and the motor is running, the strobe light< (L0001), goes out, this should not happen, but, if the circuit to the motor is open, the strobe illuminates, as it should do, (constantly). I'm thinking possibly a grounding issue, but as a novice I'm not really sure.
I am intending to replace all resistors and caps with better quality/tolerance ones, but I'm pretty sure that won't cure the problem as the lamp lights when the motor circuit is open.....
I include the schematic for the TT and hope that some of you more knowledgeable folk could take a look and point me in the right direction!!
It has the E type power trans strapping - 220/40V 50Hz;
