So I am looking to break into the DAC world and before I get too crazy I thought I might start with a simple entry level unit. Does anyone have any experience with the Audioengine D1?

It seems to get decent reviews as is comparable with Apple and Windows computers. Any opinions out there?

I bought a DAC card which requires three transformers (you can do it with two with double secondaries) for only $63 and are extremely pleased with results. It uses the XMOS processor and has three big beefy PSs, USB in and RCA out.
