Personally I found the article a bit light weight. But anything written about tubes with a positive bias is good.

"Amazing", my 22 year old daughter uses that word to describe the flavour of her protein shake. She has more tube based audio appliances around her than our journo.

There is a sort of misleading part though....high power microwave units still do use tubes on occasion. Some industrial processes as well. Me, I use tubes all the time, but that is in audio applications. They do sound different, but is it better? That is up to the individual, I think so but only for well designed gear. There is plenty of junk tube stuff running around now that says it will give you a taste of tube sound....IMHO mostly a very bad taste but YMMV.
