I'm a software engineer with an occasional interest in hardware design and development. Music-wise I'm into lo-fi, EDM and 8bit mostly.. :)

I know my analog electronics reasonably well, and know some good sources to go looking when I need to augment my knowledge. What I'm lacking bitterly is knowledge of audio industry specifics, such as line levels, best practices for audio amplifier design, what the output should look like if it's going to be plugged into a guitar amp's input, and what if it will be plugged into an effect processor or mixing table, what the output impedance and peak-to-peak voltage should be, etc.

Could anyone point me to a good book or online resource that details stuff like this? My searches online have mostly landed me on tutorials about Ohm's law and soldering technique. :D
