There are many Bucket Lists around for all sorts of hobbies and interests. But I thought what of a list of DIY projects you want to complete before you kick the bucket (die and go to the big listening lougne in the sky). How are you feeling today? The rules are you can only list projects you have not started to put together yet (though you may have the parts) and have not built anything quite like it. For example I have built a number of two stage tube preamps but never a single stage tube preamp. I could list the single stage pre. on my bucket list. If you complete one project you are allowed to add a new one to your list. Or you can choose only to work to that original list.

Here's mine:
1 - Single tube preamp
2 - Single tube phono preamp
3 - The Audio Express 211 power amp with no caps and all inter-stage nickel core transformers
4 - 807 amp (Cabernet Luciano) designed by Suncalc
5 - 300B amp (Treasure) designed by Suncalc
6 - Large tube phono amp
7 - Magnetic amplifier (if I can ever find a cct. and tranni winding specs)
8 - Full tube powered, two channel home theatre set-up
9 - External DAC
10 - A compressed CO2 SS preamp.

That's mine. Two I have some parts for but a long way to go. What's on your list?

Hi Mark,

Whats 6-4 ?

Btw I am going to Christchurch in 2 weeks time for studies. 1 year to go for my Mech Eng masters.
I won't be taking any of my projects over there, so basically I will have to start from scratch while my parents get to listen to awesome music at home ! lol..

Think headphones, headphone drivers, Real MP3 players (not crappy iPods).

Dinesh: What else can you add to your Bucket List. Think exotic.

Well, I don't have a list of 10, but here are some stuff I'd really like to build and hear.

A real SET amp 300B!

Open Baffle Speakers

A Nelson Pass SS amp - (F5 - I have all the parts)

A dedicated listening room.

Cheers

Gio: Good start but I know there are other things you would really like to build before you kick the bucket.

Let the imagination go wild. How about a 845/211 big banger? Or a hybrid-JAN6418/2N3055 power amp?????

This is something I have to add to the list. So my Class a "brute" (Item #2) will be this instead.

Mark,
My brain is not working now. Do you mean I should add some of those projects to the list ?
I don't really listen to headphones.
