Post subject:  Learning electronics

Hi all,

I just joined up and am very interested in building some tube amps. I've been interfacing with audio and electronics for many years and currently design and install low voltage systems for enterainment in homes and yachts. I plan on making the time to tackle an amplifier project from this site but what I'd really like to get started with is learning the theory behind which compoments are used and general circuit design with regards to audio. I have in the past attempted to educate myself with electronics text books but I found it difficult wilthout some context. I tend to learn by reverse engineering so my approach would be to study the audio circuit and then search out material that can explain why each component is where it is. So with that in mind can some one offer a syllabus of reading material that can get one on track with analog circuit design and how it relates to the projects on this site?

Thanks a lot.

Joe

Hi Joe, welcome to the forum.

Here is a list of diy audio books that I use on a regular basis.

Also, Pete's site has a bunch of audio books that are now public domain (free):

Hope this helps.

Another thing you can search for is online tutorials. There are plenty on the web.
