I have a sansui TU-217 tuner that when in stereo mode is is sorta staticky but in mono it sound clear, So I think it needs to be serviced but I have never messed with tuners, Is it hard to align them? or should I find a service tech? I have the schematics for it but have not looked at the guts yet. And trying to find a tech in this town might be impossible lol.

I have had similar problems and never really had any luck trying to realign them. The problem is that there are so many coils to adjust.

Antennas are fun. It was a crystal radio that got me hooked on electronics and audio when I was about 13!

If you are into radios, give this site a look. They have a lot of neat gear.

Also, here are some of my radio bookmarks you might find handy:

Gio, My gramps got me a bunch of wire, a crystal, an earphone, and an oatmeal box when I was 13 to. It was pretty cool :)
