Hi, I have not seen that mod. You might ask on the diyaudio.com forums as there are more folks there that do that sort of thing. I replaced the capacitors in mine with Silmac II and WIMA caps. I left the res alone. As my number 2 system it does well. Not up to the caliber of the OPPO SE in my main system. Then again few are. On the 5001, I like how quiet it is and the various features for setting up a play list. Nice for making tapes. Yes I do that too. The Nak in the second system and I have an AKAI R-R and a HK391 in my main system.

Now IAW with the main thread ...I'm listening to lite jazz on XM. Jack Jezzro, Beauty and the Beast at present

BTW I just this AM swapped out my Marantz 1060 for the Marantz 2265B. A bit of overkill for listening at 12-20 inches. Had to reinforce the shelf too..it weighs in at about 40 pounds or so.

Good listening
Bruce

Streaming from "A Jazz Dream Radio" via my Pi3B and DIY DAC into a BoZ preamp, "Intermezzo" power amp (1/3W) and Beyma speakers. 100% DIY listening. So cool.

Hi, A new artist for me at least. Earl Klugh. "Late Night Guitar" If you like acoustic guitars you might want to give it a listen. Some tunes are just nice to listen to, and some more lively. I especially like Jamaica Farewell. BTW the CD is cheap on Amazon...$6 at present

Good listening

I was thinking about this, it reminded me of many years ago when the bachelors were played quite often by my parents.

I always found this track interesting but also strange being a young mind at the time..
It had me thinking for many years.(I'm still thinking)<<but that's not the sound of silence is it..

I will admit the batchelors did have an interesting sound, sort of haunting.
