Merry Christmas to me..... I just received the LP. Been waiting for several months as the original run is virtually gone and if you find one very costly. The new ones by ORG on 180 gram vinyl and are 45 RPM are not cheap either (you get two LPs). Now I just have to find time to listen to it.

I hope you all got great stuff and had great hoilday as well.

Good Listening

Bruce;

I have this album on cd (in fact, I'm listening to it right now) and can only imagine how good it sounds on vinyl. You'll have to let us know.

I´ll second that!

ORG, 180 gram, vinyl, 45 RPM and Diana Krall are magical words! :D

Will you listen on EL34 or KT88´s for a comparision? :P

Enjoy your music! :)

Hi, I'll first listen on the KT120 mono blocks, then likely the EL84 minis.

I'll put it on reel to reel as well.

Good listening

Hi, It is just lovely. In 45 RPM the sound seems cleaner and more detailed as well as having a quieter background. Part is probably due to the speed change as the cartridge output is greater. Very good LP well recorded. I recommend it to anyone with a vinyl habit and a TT that can do 45 RPM well. I plan on putting it on reel to reel in a day or so. BTW and a bit toward OT, I'm bringing R2R with me to the May Lone Star Audio Fest (first week of May in Dallas) in addition to the rather non-stock Dual 701/Origin Live/AT33PTG-II. You can hear the LP for yourself there.

When was it recorded?

Bruce here is a tough question, was it originally digitally recorded or tape recorded? Mind you I have felt digital recorded LPs still extremely good. I have a number of them from the early to mid 80s.

Hi Mark, It doesn't specify, extremely well done in any case. Perhaps someone out there knows the answer to that.

Goof listening

I have a recently recorded double 180gm LP of hers. It sounds like it was recorded on tape due to a light hiss. The first side has a shocking amount of digital silence and is unplayable. The other three sides are good though. 33 1/3 speed. I read where right from day one when the LP size was decided they all should have been @ 45rpm. You would think with hind sight when the CD was being finalised 24bit \88.2 would have been the base. Will we ever learn?
