I had forgotten I had 20 classical CDs under my large coffee table. The way I store CD is different to the way I used to do it. I decided before I sore-away these 20 gems I would take a refresher listen to them then place them in my new storage boxes. A lot are NAXOS CDs. I have found about 90% of NAXOS CDs I really love and are extremely enjoyable. It has been a real pleasure re-playing these CDs I have not played for many years on my current equipment which I feel is the best system I have every had to date.

I will not mention them all here but would like to highlight one NAXOS CD I really enjoyed just a day or so ago. It is a Johan Christian Bach recording called "Sinfonias Vol.3". Orhcestra was Camerata Budapest with Hanspeter Gmur waving the stick upfront. http://www.naxos.com/catalogue/item.asp?item_code=8.553085

I think it is one of those CDs I could play weekly for the rest of my life and never tire of it. A 1994 DDD recording of not only extremely fine, easy listening music but an excellent recording. Good value for $AU9.95!

Some $2 thrift shop bargains. These days I'm staying away from vinyl at thrift shops. 50% are good, 10% are great the rest bin fodder. Unscratched CDs are another matter. These I picked up for $2 each and are excellent.

Faure' Requiem Op84 and Bernstein Chichester Psalms. Treble Aled Jones. Royal Phil. Orch. 1986. RPO records

Beethoven "Harp" Quartet and Shubert A minor String Quartet - Brodsky Srting Quartet. IMP 1986

Beethoven Piano Concertos 1 & 2.London Symph. Julius Katchen and Piero Gamba on the short stick.

If you see any of these CDs at any price, grab them.
