Howdy ya'll. I'm new here and this is my first post. I have a new Yamaha surround pre/pro and plan on using all the channels.
Yamaha specifies a presence speaker height of 69 inches front and rear. I plan on making my own speaker stands out of old disc brake rotors and one inch black pipe. I'm thinking about drilling a hole in the pipe at the bottom and top, beveling it to prevent snags, and running the wire (12 gauge) through the pipe.
Should I have any concerns about induction and frequency problems?
If so, is there a way to negate it?
Thanks.

Hi, I'm sure someone will holler. But I doubt that there will be enough to matter. I would probably twist the wire though. It is common practice to run speaker wires through holes in the supports of commercial stands and I have never heard of any issues.

Good listening
Bruce
