I am a beginner and I noticed my amps frequently do not sound clean. I am sure one of the problems is I am not using a shielded wire.
can someone recommend an item from partsexpress or amazon?, I like to get a non-stranded shielded wire (22-26gauge) for my amp work.

thanks,

Hi There is some but not from those sources. Try Allied and Jameco. There is a Beldon one that is solid core. I use lots of shielded wire and have no problems. What you do is "tin" the center conductor before you use it. I like the following Mogami wire. Easy to use and a nice diameter for putting in chassis

Good listening

A solid core request is unusual for interconnects, but I have used RG58 coax cable with great results. It's inexpensive and fits standard RCA plugs like a champ. Use the stuff with a 98% braid, not Radio Shack junk ;)

Cheers!

how about those DIY ethernet (LAN) cable mods? some seem to be very happy with shielded UTP cables
