Back on the topic interconnect cables...
I recently added a Yamaha Parametric EQ into my (formely) simple system to give it a try and like what I hear. My speakers ar Hammer Dynamics Super 12's and they needed a little help below 60 hz and this gives me just that and does not muck up the sound otherwise. The Equalizer is XLR balanced input and output. and the rest of my system is unbalanced.

I used some existing cables made of Belden 2 conductor shielded mic cable, but had to use two cable connected ent-to-end to make the EQ out to power amp link.

I would want to build up a new pair of cable to go from the output of the EQ into my Oddblock tube monoblock tube amplifiers to eliminate the extra length and connectors. Shoud I use star-quad cable (it seems to be unplated copper conductors with no mention of OFC or silver plating), or go with a conventional 2-conductor shielded cable that is OFC silver plated conductors? These cables will be about 4 feet long, and I plan to use good quality plugs.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi Bill,

Are you are looking to make a balanced to unbalanced cable? Can you post links to the wires you are looking at.
