While enjoying some music with a fellow DIYer and my new
lm3875 chip amp (SynergyII\Cu) he commented that the overall sound appeared a bit tilted up, even a little brittle at the top. Also he commented that there appeared to be a suck-out around the lower mid area. Maybe the silver inter-connects from the preamp to the power amp (chip amp) are too "bright". What about some copper. Swapping the silver leads for copper based Transparent 200's fixed the bright problem and the all over music sounded richer and better.
I made a pair of Copper and Cotton leads to replace the Transparents. The wire is single strand solid core tinned copper with a double layer of cotton I purchased for the Fender Champ build. I loose twisted two wires and heat shrinked over the top. A small choke was added to the destination end and solid nickle and gold plated plugs were used. I now need some time "on the ear" to evaluate them.
