I got two of each power,choke and i think the outputs i got might work. so all i should need is the phase splitter, I need to check the outputs and make sure they are the proper load.

Maybe Edcor will give us a price break if we get together for a number of pieces. I was erroneous before when I said we all will need 5 or 6 transformers, depending on whether we build monoblocks or a single chassis; it is actually 7 or 8. 1 or 2 power transformers, 2 chokes, 2 OPTs, and the 2 phase splitters.

I would be in for an all Edcor iron group buy.

I contacted Edcor about the possibility of a group buy, and I'll post here when I get an answer.

Hey all! I received a reply from Edcor. I removed the name of the person who sent it, but the message itself is verbatim, although it is a bit vague about $$$. I guess they can't really commit to a definite price structure until they know how many of each transformer will be ordered. Makes sense.

I'm sure most people know this up front, but just in case some have never been involved in a "group buy", it is just what it says, a group gets together to buy a volume total of a single item, or in this case a group of items. Those of us who do participate would need to agree on open frame or enclosed, and the actual specs of each specific item. We can't some want 5K enclosed frame OPTs, and some want 6.6Ks open frames, and expect the same price breaks as we would get buying all the same thing.

I will need to provide some additional info about the chokes, but this is where they stand thus far.

Here's a link for anyone who wants to look at what's available, if they haven't already.

Quoting Edcor;

"Greg,

We have a power transformer XPWR011, primary 120v, secondaries of 400-0-400
@ 200mA, 6.3V @ 5A, 5V @ 3A. Would it work? We have a CXPP50-MS-6.6K and
CXPP60-MS-6.6K push pull. On the chokes we would need more info. The
Sowter unit the closet we would have is the PCW10K/10K unit. We would work
with you on the price."
