Hi . I want to build 4Ohm loudspeakers with crossover from 8Ohm drivers . Most of drivers i can find in resonable prices are 8Ohm here in shenzhen. How can i build 4Ohm speakers with 8Ohm drivers with crossover? As I am an civil engineer but new to builidng speakers so i want to understand it better. As simple as connecting 2 x 8Ohm in parallel will make their resistance 4Ohm but won’t be good setup . What i could do to make it good and have nice sound quality ? Please don’t give complicated advices , need to make it simple ![]() |

There's nothing wrong with paralleling 2 x 8 ohm speakers to get a 4 ohm load. |

Yes but how to use crossover if do parallel connection of two 8 ohm speakers to get 4 ohm ? As without crossover parallel connection of two 8 ohm speakers will give me 4 ohm but it would be direct connection without capacitor or crossover? Thanks |

you need to scale the crossover to accommodate the new impedance. would you mind explaining why you seem to feel that impedance matters or affects sound quality? |

Hi. My amplifier is 4ohm so i want to build also 4ohm speakers . But drivers i have are 8ohm and another set 6ohm . So i am just trying to understand how to build 4Ohm speakers from what i have . Regards |

As if i put capacitor for line to high tone driver it will become 8ohm system again ? |
