Post subject:  Sub woofer compatible with Sansui G22000?

I have a Sansui G-22000 that has been in a closet since the eightes and I have become interested in hooking it all back up. My question is will this amplifier support the use of a powered sub woofer in addition to the primary speakers?

Thank you,
Darrell

If you have a center-channel out, it will.
If it has a pre-amp out, it will - you will need a Y-connector to get both R & L signal into the sub.

Might want to check out this piece from Rane Audio regarding summing stereo outputs to mono for a subwoofer.

Hi, Many powered subs (and a few not powered ones) have built in summing capability. Most powered ones will also have crossover components and adjustments. Some passive subs will also have built in crossovers. Passive subs with suitable crossovers can be used with one on each channel. Level adjustments may be needed (probably the sub will be less efficient than the mains).

If the amp is still functional it ought to be fine. It may require cleaning of the switch contacts, volume and tone controls and input and output jacks.

Good listening
Bruce
