Looking at a new high efficiency, small footprint speaker project, and like the Thor design, but can't afford those SEAS drivers. I may have found cheaper drivers which will work (of course, you kinda get what you pay for):
Dayton Audio RS180-8 woofers and ND28F-6 tweeters. Has anyone tried this combination or have a better idea?

Hi, that looks like a good combo for the cost.

For about $6 more on the tweeters there are these new dayton products to look at but they are sold out:

I like that a screen covers the domes, particularly for soft domes. Higher sensitivity but Re is 3 ohms which may be too low.

Against a pair of 7" woofers, the compact face of the ND28F-6 may look real small. Under $30 there looks to be a number of decent full face plate Peerless tweeters that would fit the bit, some with more sensitivity.

Cheers
