Jim,
Nice looking speakers! Did you order the kit off of their website? I bought some Fe126en 4" drivers from the actual store in Madison. Very nice people and they were very willing to help me with my questions. I need to build my speakers yet, thanks for reminding me!

What are you using to drive the speakers? The little Fostex amp?

Yep, ordered them off their Web site. I did not get the Fostex amp. I use a Marantz PM8004 amp sometimes with a tube buffer between the amp and the source.

Jim,
What little Fostex amp? The only amp which should drive Fostex is a Low power tube amp.

If you look at the first pic in my first post you'll see the Fostex D-amp. Click on the Madisound link for more info on the little Fostex D-amp.

I just ordered a pair of these speakers, also with the FF105WKs. I was wondering where you found info on the mods? I'll be using these in my office with an Elekit TU-8100 tube amp.

Derp... I found the mods you were talking about. Just put my Kanspea 4" speakers together with the dampening putty and felt on the back of the drivers. I bought a pack of felt pads for using on furniture feet, etc. they were 4.5x6" pieces with peel and stick adhesive. I cut them into circles and stuck them on. The brand of the felt pads is Waxman if anyone is interested. You can find them in Home Depot, etc., but I got them on Amazon.

I can't believe how good these speakers sound with no break-in! If they get better, I'm going to be really impressed! FYI, I have the FF105WK drivers. I'm driving them with a K12G amp (slightly modded) right now, but ultimately they will be computer speakers and will be driven with an Elekit TU-2100. The amp kit arrived today, and I should be able to assemble it on Wednesday.

Necro thread, but I have to agree that these speakers are excellent...especially on vinyl. 8" sub really helps for the bottom end. Powered by a TPA3116 Class-D amp that I built myself. So excellent.
