Is that a sealed enclosure?

Yes, I find that a BSC is necessary to get a balanced sound.

I've been meaning to get an aperiodic vent in mine for some time now.

Cheers

Yeah it is sealed. Hmm, I have enjoyed mine for a long time without the baffle-step...but once I add the Aurum Cantus I guess I will put it in.

Scary...we seem to have similar tastes in sound.

I am kind of worried about the efficiency loss since I use a low powered t-amp on mine and plan on building a SET KT-88 to match with my solid state preamp.

Neither will make much more than 8w on a good day.

But with the lowest possible SPL on that you can still get like 93db with 8 watts. I take that lowest possible from the lowest of the 4 reported recorded SPL from the link to the speakers referenced in the first post of this thread. Of course its probably really 90db since you may not get great performance pushing the tube to 8 watts. 90 isnt bad though. Still pretty loud.

Yeah I am sure it will be enough...I can push maybe 93-95 right now and it more than satisfies me for everything but the drunkest of nights :D .

I am really stoked to hear what the ribbon tweeters do...the builder described it as a "miraculous" difference and I find them pretty darn good already...besides with the tweeter in there the efficiency will probably be back around what it was anyways.

Tweeters should improve the top and and the off axis response. I'll be interested in hearing what you think with the tweeter.

Cheers

Hello billnchristy,

What exactly is the finish you have used? It looks good. Are you coupling these with a subwoofer? I have read good things about these but I am more into the larger fullrange units.
