Hi All!

I am having trouble with sizing of a port for my PVC tube enclosure. My calculated volume is 0.25cuft. The Driver is a Tang Band W4-1337SD with an effective piston area of 0.0057M^2 and a X-max of 3mm. The enclosure was sized for a 1/4 wave frequency of 70hz which also appears to be the Fs of the driver ( I don't know if this is good or bad), Because the enclosure is round ( ABS tube) I was hoping to use something like 2" dia pvc pipe to fit inside.
I have posted a picture of it in the Zigmahornet with Tang Band W4-1337 thread. All comments and help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi dbec,

For a 0.25 ft^3 enclosure you want to use a 2" diam pipe with a length of 5.5 inches to get a tuning of about 70Hz. Making the port longer will make a lower tuning. So you may want to start a big longer with the stuffing to see how that sounds as you could always cut it down later.

Cheers, Gio
