No just off the shelf. There is about four or size sizes. This one is the second largest.

Hi, I used the TPA6120A2 for a couple of headphone amps. A superior device but not cheap. It is a 700mw per channel output thing and is quite configurable. I have to admit that I use the OPA2134 for low power phone amps and they work rather well at that and are a lot cheaper and easier to source.

Good listening
Bruce

I’ve asked Oatley if they will sell 10 PT2308s. No reply as yet.

Is there a non-surface mount equiv?

Hi Mark, unfortunately no. I use "surf" boards for them. Not too difficult with a 6-12 watt iron.

Good listening
Bruce

Hi Mark, were you ever able to source those PT2308's? I'm having a difficult time finding them at all. I've found one source here in the States with a minimum purchase of 25.00 USD @ 2.87 apiece

I have found them on eBay but like 25 of them not singles. I can’t make any other suggestions.

The TP2308 is available from LCSC ELECTRONICS in single lot quantity for $0.19 ea. That is a SOIC-8 package. They have 82 in stock and will ship via regular mail. I am in Canada and it takes about a week to get here.

i know the SMD (SOIC) package is scary at first but boards for the SOIC and SSOP packages are readily available (if one is not making ones own board) and since that is the way all are going, the sooner one starts the better. Really it is not any harder to solder them and at 1/4 the size of an 8DIP much much smaller.

Also the TPA6112 and TPA6138 are available from places like Digi-Key and Mouser in single lots but more expensive. (They might be available from LCSC as well for cheep). The 6112 runs on 5v+ single supply but needs output caps and the 6138 runs on 3.3v+ single supply but uses an internal charge pump to generate it's own -3.3v thus eliminating the output caps and acheaving a 6.6v swing. I have used both these amps and they are great.
