Post subject:  component replacement

Hi guys A friend of mine acquired a Paradigm sub-woofer ls series that didn't work so he asked me to take a look at it.
As a guy that never turns down a challenge(or just something to pass the time repairing) I figured what the hell why not.
I found a LM3876t that was shorted.
My question is,
I have a mit full of new LM3886 Just taking up space in my parts bin.
The pin out looks identical to me. Specs are close enough (imo)
If It were my sub-woofer i would just put the LM3886 in and see what happens.
But it isn't mine and was looking for some advice to see if the LM3886 is a suitable Replacement for the LM3876t.
Or should I just buy the LM3876t.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Steve - the LM3886 is virtually the same and higher power. Are Pins 1 and 5 connected on the 3876 circuit? They will need to be connected with the 3886 chip. The 3876 datasheet make reference to this. The 3886 has better specifications.

Thanks Gio

I will look to see if pins 1 and 5 are connected tonight.
I have no schematics for this sub-woofer So I will have to trace it out.
No big deal unless someone here happens to have a copy I would appreciate it.
